Cozy common areas and attentive hosts
I had a wonderful time at this guest house! The common dining area was a highlight, especially with the heated area rugs and free coffee and tea available. The owner was incredibly kind, even offering to drive us to the village when it was raining, which I greatly appreciated. Just a heads-up, the walk from the bus station can be a bit lengthy if you're carrying a lot of luggage.

I absolutely loved my stay! The room was sleek and very clean, and having a fridge was super convenient. However, the shower could be a bit snug for larger guests. I would definitely come back again!

The common area was cozy and welcoming.
My stay was frustrating due to the insufficient lighting in the sleeping area, making it difficult to pack or read, forcing me to do everything in the lounge. The far side of the bunk bed I slept in didn't get proper heating, leaving me cold at night. Additionally, the lack of lockers made me feel uneasy about my belongings while I slept.

The common area was cozy, and it was a great spot to meet fellow travelers over a cup of free tea or coffee.
The lack of hand soap in the shared facilities was a bit odd and could use improvement.

Kei Guesthouse felt like home. The owner's warm welcome struck us immediately. The cozy room was clean, and we enjoyed the shared kitchen for cooking our own meals. Free tea and snacks were a great touch. The 15-minute walk to Shirakawa-go was manageable, but carrying luggage in the heat was tough. The bathrooms were clean, but having only two showers for the guests sometimes felt cramped. The lack of hand soap in the shared facilities was a bit odd. I’d definitely come back.

The welcoming host offered fantastic customer service, including a ride to the nearby village in the rain. The shared kitchen was a great feature, perfect for preparing simple meals like ramen. However, the proximity to the bus station made the walk challenging, especially with luggage, and there was limited availability of dining options in the area. Additionally, the showers felt cramped at times, which could be an issue for larger guests.

We loved the common space to relax. The host was super helpful and the tea and coffee were free, which made everything feel cozy! Plus, the location was just a nice walk to the historic center. Great for enjoying the quiet evenings.
Nothing at all.
